Biography |
Mijo Beljo was born in Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina) in 1989. He finished Elementary School in Prozor (2004) and high school in Križevci (Croatia), 2008. In 2009 he enrolled undergraduate History study at the Croatian Studies, University of Zagreb, which he completed in 2012 and received the Croatian Studies Award for being the best undergraduate student of History study. Upon completing the undergraduate level of studies, he enrolled in a single-major graduate study of History at the Croatian Studies, which he successfully completed in 2014. In the same year, he enrolled in PhD in History at his home institution. In the period from 2016 to 2017, he was teaching History at the Alojzije Stepinac Elementary School in Zagreb until he was elected to the position of assistant at the Department of History of Croatian Studies, University of Zagreb. He currently participates in teaching elective courses in modern and contemporary Croatian and world history at the undergraduate and graduate level of History studies and takes part in teaching certain courses at the Department of Psychology. His research area is the modern and contemporary social, military, and political history of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, with an emphasis on the period of the Homeland War in BiH. In 2021 at the Faculty of Croatian Studies, University of Zagreb, he defended his doctoral dissertation, which dealt with a part of Bosniak (Muslim) - Croat political and military relations during the Homeland War in BiH. |

Hrvatski studiji Sveučilišta u Zagrebu pokrenuti su i ustrojeni 16. studenoga 1992., isprva samo kao dvosemestralni Sveučilišni komparativni studij hrvatske filozofije i društva. Taj je program potom preoblikovan u program redovitog četverogodišnjeg studija.
