Psychology is a modern social science that studies human behaviour and psychological processes. Its focus is the development of scientific theories based on research, and the implementation of research results in many areas of the human life and functioning. The study programme in psychology at the Centre for Croatian Studies, at undergraduate and graduate levels, is in accordance with the European Diploma in Psychology, which guarantees that it provides professional competencies recognized within the European Union, and makes graduates in psychology fully qualified to compete in the labour markets. What do we ask? You have obtained a Master’s degree or equivalent in psychology, sociology, (health) economics, health policy, health sciences, communication sciences, health technology, computer sciences, or related fields before March 1st, 2019.
What do we study?
Informal caregivers provide unpaid care to relatives or acquaintances with a chronic illness, disability, or other long-lasting care need. Mostly due to increased longevity and medical advances, the care needs of individuals for long-term care rise rapidly while the availability of informal caregivers decreases. Since the European health care systems rely heavily on the provision of informal care, this so called ‘Care Gap’ will create problems for their sustainability.
What are our main research questions?
• What are the current and future caregiving challenges? What motivates diverse groups of informal caregivers to provide care, also across countries?
• Which specific (psychosocial) interventions, services and technology-based interventions could be helpful to caregivers? How can we best deliver these interventions, services, and tools to sustain willingness to care amongst caregivers?
• How can we promote the implementation and dissemination of evidence-based interventions, services, and tools aimed to support informal caregiving?
We will study these research questions within the ENTWINE network. ENTWINE is a 4-year Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovation Training Network (ITN), funded by the European Union. The Network will employ 15 Early Stage Researchers (ESRs).
What do we offer? The PhD student will be appointed for a 3-year advanced international, multidisciplinary and intersectoral research training at and conform the conditions of the host organization indicated for each position. Additionally, we offer:

The international scientific conference Psychology Days in Zadar has been held in the organization of the Department of Psychology at the University of Zadar for 35 years now.
Initially conceived as a regional meeting, it soon outgrew those frames and now we can say that it is a reputable international meeting. Its quality was recognized by many participants, whose large responsiveness is also an incentive to members of the Department for further improvement in the organization and realization of this event. Therefore, with certainty we can say that this is today one of the most renowned international scientific meetings in our region, and perhaps beyond.
The conference program provides a set of thematic symposia, roundtables, and presentations of scientific and professional papers from various fields of psychology, such as perception, cognition, experimental psychology, methodology, developmental psychology, educational psychology, social psychology, emotions, motivation, personality, psychophysiology of stress, psychophysiology of work, organizational psychology, clinical, health psychology, etc. In addition to these traditional areas of psychology we certainly hope that topics that will link a number of other practical and theoretical approaches in psychology will be represented during the 19th Psychology Days.

The scientific programme will cover a diverse range of topics including: the cognitive- behavioural treatment of addictive disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD and related disorders, mood disorders, eating disorders, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, child and adolescent mental health, treatment of the elderly, and behavioral medicine.
Throughout these topics, the emphasis will be on evidence-based practice, training of evidence-based CBT practitioners, dissemination of results of clinically relevant studies, the pros and cons of technological innovations in CBT such as internet-based therapy, virtual reality treatment and use of gaming in therapy.
The scientific programme will span 3 days, September 11th -13th, and will include plenary sessions, keynote addresses, workshops, clinical master classes en meet the expert meetings, symposia, open papers, and poster sessions. Precongress workshops will be offered on Wednesday, September 10th. Precongress workshops are skill-based workshops led by internationally renowned practitioners in their field, and will cover a range of CBT applications at introductory, intermediate and advanced levels of training.
Congress delegates will hear outstanding clinical and scientific presentations on new developments in cognitive behavioural therapy for a broad mixture of disorders. The congress will provide an opportunity to meet old and new international colleagues and friends.
The committee will provide a highly interesting scientific programme featuring influential researchers and clinicians from around the world.

In the last 20 years, we have witnessed an increasing and widening profile of research activities in the field of education. This is evident through research endeavours of increasingly varied scope, ranging from international assessment and testing of abilities, through research at national and regional levels, to action research at the level of an individual school. At the same time, there has been an expansion of the methods in which data is collected, from population data at the level of individual countries through to quantitative research and qualitative studies. In addition, this has been accompanied by significant methodological improvements in the analytical procedures applied to the collected data.
These developments in the field of educational research have occurred in a period where any educational change needs to be supported by and founded upon research findings and data. Although one might expect that such a context would contribute to an increase in the role of research in any proposed changes, this is not always the case. Indeed, researchers often feel that the results of their work are not sufficiently taken into account in the planning and implementation of educational change. Conversely, those responsible for developing and implementing educational change often point out that the existing research is often not sufficiently applicable to practice and that researchers are not communicating their results in an appropriate and accessible manner.
The 2nd Days of Educational Sciences are devoted to examining the role of research in educational change.
All scientists and researchers are invited to submit and present the results of empirical research in which a primary aim was an attempt to inform, activate and direct educational change. Research endeavours of a diverse scope, from international comparative studies to action research, are welcome and encouraged to participate.

The Conference covers all fields of psychology and is therefore open to diverse topics; however, it is organized around the theme of culture and context. This theme might help to increase the epistemic and praxeological concept of psychology and show the enormous quantity of links to other academic disciplines. Particular attention will be paid to the promotion of young scientists by awarding prizes and fellowships for their research work.
Scientific conferences are attended to get new insights, to exchange scientific experiences, to establish a feeling of coherence within the professional boundaries. A possible answer to the aforementioned question may be our will to handle our motivesto participate in such a conference in an honest and open way - to agree that international conviviality is an important part about it!
